The essentials

What matters for a work visa?

01

H-1B

For specialty occupations that require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. New H-1B cases go through an annual registration and selection. Rules and fees have changed recently.

02

L-1

For employees transferred from a related company abroad, generally after at least one year of work there.

03

O-1

For people with extraordinary ability, documented by awards, publications, press or high pay.

04

Green card through work

Usually needs a job offer and labor certification, or a self-petition such as EB-1 or a national interest waiver.

Easy to start

No big leap.
Just a first step.

You tell us what is going on. We find the right attorney for it.

  1. 01

A few words about your situation.

Choose your topic and leave your contact details. You don’t need a complete file to get started.

  2. 02

    A free first call.

Our intake team gets in touch, clarifies what you need and connects you with an independent attorney licensed in California.

  3. 03

A flat fee before any work.

The attorney reviews your case and quotes the scope and a fee in writing. You decide whether to go ahead.

For later, not for now

What you can have
ready for the call.

You don’t need to upload anything in the form. These documents can help later:

  • Your degrees, transcripts and résumé
  • The job offer or a description of the position
  • Your current visa, I-94 and any previous US filings

Losing your job or a pending deadline can affect your status quickly. An enquiry does not stop any deadline.

You may still be wondering …

Before we
talk.

Can I change employers on an H-1B?

In many cases the new employer can file a petition and you can start working once it is filed. Your attorney checks whether this applies to you.

We are an employer. Can we ask too?

Yes. Tell us the role and the timing. The attorney checks the options and the employer's obligations.

What does the first call cost?

The first call is free and without obligation. If you want an attorney to take on your matter, the attorney quotes the scope and fee in writing before any work starts.

What happens after I send my request?

Our intake team reviews your request and gets in touch to clarify it and arrange the call. Sending the form does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not book an appointment.
